Offering #1 - Regenerating Life from the Inside Out
You cannot regenerate life by just thinking and talking about it. In this 9-week practice intensive, we work strictly from the inside out. By using the raw friction of your own limitations as firewood, we build the true capacity to regenerate ourselves, and in turn, the world.
In order to regenerate life, I have discovered I cannot simply spend my time thinking or talking about it. It only becomes real when it is a lived, physical experience.
For years, I approached this work from the 'outside in.' I was trained to look at living systems, to design projects, and to try and fix the world out there. But I consistently hit a wall. I was trying to be clever enough to regenerate life without any somatic understanding of what that actually meant.
Later, I engaged in a different crucible, joining intensive, multi-year cohorts focused on regenerating business. It was heavy. I must take a breath here, because my honest recollection of that time is filled with a lot of driving and striving—a deeply ingrained, mechanical pattern I am still in the process of dismantling.
Eventually, through friction and a period of quiet reflection, the true orientation finally clicked. The work had to be from the 'inside out.', at least for me, and I suspect a few others.
The challenge was not out there in a project; it was in confronting my own limitations and using them as the literal firewood for my development. An example that is still raw and live for me is my capacity to be in genuine relationship with the physical place where I am living and working. I initially had no idea how to do this. It took a committed period of focused practice to understand it in my body, rather than just my intellect.
It is not that the outer approach or the inner approach is wrong. Together, they form what Gurdjieff termed a 'Fourth Way' school. For me, this means: I work in the world to regenerate life, and simultaneously, I regenerate myself.
This 9-week period of focused practice is anchored entirely in that 'inside out' approach. We are regenerating the self, which naturally evolves your capacity to regenerate life in the world. The aim is to build momentum around your own practice. My hope is that you find your unforced rhythm, discover your unique value-adding role, and ground your understanding of regeneration in your own lived dirt.

* To honor the lineage of this practice: The 'outside-in' approach was forged during my time with The Regenerative Practitioner programme by the Regenesis Group (with Bill Reed, Joel Glaznberg, Ben Haggard, and Pamela Mang). The 'inside-out' approach and the map of the value-adding roles are drawn from the work of Carol Sanford and my time in her Change Agent Development and Regenerative Business communities, alongside fellow practitioners from the US, Europe, Australia and New Zealand.
