If you ever decide to host a campfire these are premises and principles that I share with those attending. It kind of answers the why and what we are doing but doesn't explain everything. The understanding really emerges through discovery and the lived experience of attending many campfires together.

Premises

Magic happens as life unfolds – When we are present to the Great Unfolding it is a ‘magical’ experience and the most delicious way to live. Everything around you comes to life.

Activating the three centres – Moving, emotional and intellectual – generates the Great Seeing usually accompanied by a lot of tears and laughter.

The baseline of our existence is not ‘consensus reality’ but the Great Love of the Universe. You can drop all the stories and explanations for this and that, if you want to, and just sit in the Real. It is wholly nourishing.

Principles

1. Our mess is our curriculum – Our lives provide all the material we need totransform and fuel the campfire.

2. Witnessing struggle – We all struggle, you know this for yourself and it is true for others. What does witnessing it, not fixing or trying to solve it, enable?

3. Flow over force – Forcing anything, like mechanically filling the silence, creates massive amounts of unnecessary friction. You are literally pushing against the Real and you don’t need to.

4. Let the fire get hot and blaze – This can be done by practising radical transparency and no longer hiding from yourself, pretending to be someone you are not. Throw on some firewood, let’s get it blazing.
